Watermark is excited to welcome the multi-talented Ron Rocher to our service team.
As a renowned sommelier and wine educator, Ron has brought his expertise to wine lovers across BC –we’re so fortunate to have him share his sensibilities with Watermark!
Ron took a somewhat circuitous route to the wine industry.
An elite competitive athlete and professional coach, he led numerous runners and cyclists to national, international, and Olympic glory. In pursuit of his coaching career, Ron lived for several years in Australia, where he was introduced to the enticements of the wine world. What started as a casual interest quickly grew into a passion, and led Ron to change gears, completely.
He earned his sommelier diploma through the International Sommelier Guild, an intensive program that produces some of the world’s best wine stewards. Ron returned to Vancouver, and applied his entrepreneurial spirit to the creation of the sought-after wine brokerage, Vine to Wine, in 2008. This successful business organically expanded to include tastings, educational sessions, and an exclusive and unique, high-end wine touring component.
Now, Ron brings his extensive knowledge of world-class wines and delectable food pairings, as well as his magnetic personality, to Watermark.
A champion of BC’s exceptional wines, Ron will create specialized, one-on-one wine experiences for all of our guests, both in the Restaurant and for our catering and events clients. Ron’s enthusiasm for wine is infectious!
